My email to Candice Initial idea

My idea for the interim show: am doing a live or prerecorded performance in my garden with a blow-up paddling pool, my themes are around basically reclaiming my sexuality and following my interests in BDSM culture after an abusive past, to liberate myself how i see fit- I am using my work as art therapy . The idea is to be dressed in my latex outfit head to toe inside the paddling pool. Either I will fill the pool with water or I will fill it with balloons or both (to continue my interest in flexible plastic/latex/faux leather/balloon material) etc. the performance will be quite mundane just relaxing in the pool/reading a book/eating a sandwhich etc. I also want to have some lighting above, and record in the evening as it's getting dark..... I am also considering the audio to be about the Venus fly trap, as i use the plant to symbolize seduction, and a feeling of being trapped. as the carnivorous plant uses human characteristics such as manipulation to seduce and trick its prey through releasing sweet nectar scent and having a bright red colour prey thinks it is a flower but once the fly triggers the leaves of the plant, it snaps shut and consumes the fly. This is representative of how ive felt in my life in abusive relationships but also how i have treated myself and others, as a by product of the abuse as a child, characteristics one has often repeat these similar behaviors in other ways- this is something i am focusing on shedding light to better understanding myself and my self disstrutive past behaviours and my own form of therapy. the journey from victim to survivor. Also the venus fly trap grows in marshy lands near water, hense the positioning of myself in the pond/pool Hope this makes sense
